It is the only department imparting training in VLSI Technology and Design with advanced laboratory facilities in this region.The department has entered into a memrandum of understanding with Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute, Pilani for joint research and students training. MoU are also in place with CSIO, Chandigarh and National Physical Lab., New Delhi. Students find placement in multinational VLSI industries like Cadence Systems, ST Microelectronics, Lucent Technologies, Motorola etc.
